Eliot Smalheiser, PT, Transform MFR

Eliot is passionate about helping people feel more at home in their bodies and empowering them to take an active role in their own healing. As a licensed physical therapist with experience in outpatient orthopedics and home-based care, he has seen how pain can affect every aspect of life. He believes healing should be a collaborative process, shaped around each person’s needs, experiences, and goals.

Healing on your terms

Over the years, Eliot has continued to deepen his understanding of the body through training in John F. Barnes Myofascial Release, Somatic Experiencing, Reiki, and yoga. These approaches have helped shape his belief that healing involves more than addressing physical symptoms. Our bodies and nervous systems are deeply connected, and creating space for both physical and emotional healing can help us feel more comfortable, present, and connected with ourselves.

His approach combines Myofascial Release, Somatic Experiencing, and Reiki to meet each person where they are on any given day. Eliot believes there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing, and he works collaboratively with his clients to establish goals that feel right for them. Consent, trust, and feeling safe are central to his practice. As a queer person, he is especially passionate about creating an inclusive, welcoming space where every body is respected and everyone can feel at ease being themselves.

His goal isn’t to fix you, but to support you in reconnecting with your body, finding relief, and feeling more empowered in your own healing journey.

Originally from Chicago, Eliot moved to Boston for university and has since fallen in love with the mountains and ocean. Outside of his work, he enjoys West Coast Swing dancing, travelling and learning about different cultures, exploring nature, reading, watching thought-provoking films, and cuddling up with his fiancé and their cat.
