About Myofascial Release

We treat using John Barnes Myofascial Release® massage techniques to work on the fascia, a web of connective tissue within the body that envelopes everything including our muscles, bones, nerves and organs.  Fascial tightness is often the source of unexplained pain and can restrict muscles, compress nerves and blood flow resulting in chronic pain and limitations in motion.

A lifetime of postural habits, activities and injuries not to mention emotional stress collectively affect the fascia. Since fascia is a connective tissue throughout the body, the pain you feel may not be coming from where you feel it.  Chronic stiffness and pain in your back may be coming from fascial restrictions in other parts of your body. In order to help restore pain-free mobility we must heal the fascia and release restrictions. We teach you myofascial release self care stretching to maintain the relief after treatments.
